Job Scope:

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the incumbent will provide leadership in the development, execution and review of the finance operations systems and strategies aligned with the overall business plan and strategic objectives of the company, specifically in the areas of Finance. Ensure that all statutory standards and reporting requirements governing banking, finance and investment are adequately met at all times.

Core Functions:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and to the general decision making for the Company in conjunction with the Management Team
  • Exercise overall leadership and responsibility for the areas of finance
  • Develop and implements effective strategies, policies and programs to guide the proper and efficient functioning of the finance operations management systems
  • Assess short term and long term investment strategies for the organization
  • Manage the company's financial accounting, payroll, monitoring and reporting systems
  • Develop, maintain and monitor accounting and payroll policies to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory and financial regulations
  • Research and report on factors influencing business performance
  • Analyse competitors and market trends
  • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Determine and adequately maintain operational cash levels
  • Check and approve payments for departmental expenditure
  • Evaluate data pertaining to costs versus planned budgets
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to approved budgets
  • Conduct periodic inspection of Jamaican operations
  • Prepare departmental reports, Board reports, as well as statutory and financial reports, as required
  • Prepare and present forecasts of future performance of the business
  • Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other degree in a related discipline from a recognized university or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Certified Chartered Accountant - ACCA
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a similar position
  • Excellent leadership, teambuilding and interpersonal skills
