Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible for conducting site inspections as directed on street lighting, Traffic signal lights and building services infrastructure to ensure contracted works are compliant with the standards set.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and organize inspection report for all completed inspections sufficient to the requirements of the departments;
  • Provide assistance and information to the public, designers and contractors concerning requirement of street lighting, Traffic signal lights and building services construction and standards and other applicable laws and statutes;
  • Prepare regular and periodic reports
  • Inspect maintenance and construction works
  • Identify defects and makes report for improvement
  • Carry out regular inspections and recommends maintenance activities where necessary
  • Assist in data collection on tender document preparation

 Financial Responsibilities

  • Involved in the budget making process for the department.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized Institution or a Related Engineering discipline
  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a member of Institution of Engineers of Kenya as a graduate engineer
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the budgeting process
  • Knowledge of the professional standards and the relevant legislation guiding the construction sect

 Relevant Experience Required

  • Three (3) years of experience in maintenance from a reputable organization
