Project Manager

Our client in the construction sector is looking for a Project Manager on a 3 year contract.

The Role

The Project Manager will plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of

projects undertaken by the company on time, within budget and within scope. The applicant must possess a technical background in Engineering (preferably Civil/Mechanical Engineering) with a minimum of ten years’ experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless bid

    preparation and execution of projects.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant

    stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and

    ensuring technical feasibility.

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.

  • Ensure the technical part of the Contract review is complete.

  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.

  • Participate in the induction of the engineering team to contract/project requirements.

  • Provide instructions to the engineering team through project engineering

    instructions and procedures.

  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using

  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of

    each project.

  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets

    and experience levels.

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.

  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on

    financial analysis.

  • Use and continually develop leadership skills.

  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.

  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.

  • Ensure that the engineering final dossier is properly prepared and filed and that

    lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified.

 

Requirements

  • B.Sc/M.Sc in Engineering field (Civil/Mechanical preferably)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Minimum of 10 years experience

  • Ability to demonstrate experience in project management

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

    Salary: $18,000 to $25,000
